No Good Deed (Kelly Umber, #1)

(Blurb from Night Owl Reviews)
“In a final 10 days, I’ve quiescent myself to 3 things: Your kid’ll mangle his arm a day after we remove your job; we should always demeanour a present equine in a mouth; and nothing, not even ridding a universe of demons, is as candid as you’d think.”
Kelly McGinnis has spent her adult life perplexing to do a right thing, though as a newly down-sized mom of twins and a mother of a male vital with Multiple Sclerosis, she also knows that perplexing isn’t always enough.
While interrupting a stage of military brutality, Kelly unwittingly releases a real, live demon. After she manages to kill a quadruped by tummy instinct and blind luck, she is approached to join a tip organisation of demon hunters who exhibit an underworld of monsters and magic.
Against her improved judgment, Kelly accepts a lucrative, if bizarre, offer; though when she meets Umber, a constrained vampire with an suddenly tellurian story, she learns that a law is distant foreigner and some-more terrifying than she imagined.
MY REVIEW
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Accidentally witnessing something she never should have seen, Kelly is approached a few days after and offering a dangerous pursuit along and adequate income to assistance her family by their stream financial problems. However, as she starts training and learns some-more about a monsters she has been hired to kill, Kelly contingency try to make clarity of opposing information.

A really fast, interesting read, this book was a page-turner for me. Kelly is funny, intelligent and tenacious. The attribute she has with her father and kids felt genuine to me and, sometimes, really emotional. we appreciated and accepted most of Kelly’s middle misunderstanding though infrequently it seemed to drag a story down a little.

This is a initial book in a designed series. The subsequent installment, Hell Hath No Fury, is also available. we purchased it immediately after we finished reading this one as we am entirely invested in Kelly and her ancillary cast. Bill Blais has finished a glorious pursuit building an swap existence that is formidable and mesmerizing.
